In a time when misinformation masquerades as news and ethical boundaries blur beneath the weight of virality, the Nigerian media landscape stands at a pivotal juncture. The Association of Bloggers and Journalists Against Fake News (ABJFN), FCT Chapter, is proud to announce its maiden Strategic Deliberation — a high-level convening of media professionals, thought leaders, and advocates committed to restoring truth, trust, and transparency in journalism.
The event with the Theme: Mitigating Fake News and Unethical Journalism will take place on Tuesday, 21st October 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., at the National Human Rights Commission, Maitama, Abuja.
This seminal gathering is more than an event — it is a clarion call to every journalist, blogger, editor, and media stakeholder who believes that truth is sacred, and that the profession must rise above the noise of distortion and manipulation.
Distinguished Participants Include: The Chairman, Chief Bayo Atoyebi, Former Executive Secretary, Nigerian Press Council; Lead Speaker, Prof. Udenta O. Udenta, and celebrated public intellectual and media ethicist.
The Guest Speakers are Dr. Theophilus Abba, former Managing Editor, Daily Trust Newspapers, Mallam Abdullahi Danjuma, Investigative Journalist and Media Trainer.
There will be Goodwill Messages from Mallam Danladi Bako, PhD, former Executive Director, NDC; Comrade Garba Mohammed, former National President of NUJ; and Chief Nwabueze Njoku, Director, Signature TV.
