SDP’s Prince Adebayo Takes Campaign to Edo North, Promises To Develop The Region

If elected president of Nigeria in 2023, Prince Adewole Adebayo of the Social Democratic Party, SDP, has promised to ensure adequate development of Edo North in particular and Edo State in general.

He made the promise at the Edo North Town Hall Meeting and Political Debate Program on December 23, 2022 in Auchi, Edo State.

The SDP presidential candidate praised the region's people for their contributions to the country's peace, unity, and progress.

“And people from this community have contributed a lot to this country. When you look at the contributions of Edo North to Nigeria and what Nigeria has given back in terms of infrastructure; travelling on the road from Abuja to Auchi and Benin City to Auchi is a testimony of how much this area has been neglected,” he stated.

Prince Adebayo recalled his days as a corps member in Idah, Kogi state, saying that the service year allowed him to become acquainted with the people of Edo North, putting him in a better position than other presidential candidates to address the issues confronting the residents.

If elected president, he promised to build a seaport in Agenebode.

The SDP presidential candidate emphasized that the SDP's motto is "progress," and that progress can only be made when there is truth and justice.

According to him, the problem in Nigeria is a lack of justice, not a lack of money.

Earlier, the SDP presidential candidate visited the palace of the Otaru of Auchi and informed the monarch of his plans.

“We have neglected the place of traditional authority in our constitution. We inted to ensure the palace play a major role in the administration of Nigeria,” prince Adebayo told the Otaru.

Other priorities listed by the SDP presidential candidate include the abolition of poverty, insecurity, and unemployment in Nigeria.

In his response, Alhaji Haliru Momoh, Ikelebe the Third, the Otaru of Auchi, told the SDP presidential candidate to put his trust in God, noting that He is the one who truly chooses who governs and not mankind.

While introducing Prince Adebayo to the Otaru of Auchi, Delta State governorship candidate of the SDP and former minister of education for the state, Kenneth Gbagi, described the SDP presidential candidate as the most brilliant and articulate of all the contestants.

Senator Ugochukwu Mbah and the Edo State chairman of the SDP, Elder Felix Obayagbon, are among those in Prince Adewole Adebayo's entourage.
