Other presidential candidates who signed the agreement included Atiku Abubakar (Peoples Democratic Party), Peter Obi (Labor Party), Omoyele Sowore (African Action Congress), Rabiu Kwankwaso (New Nigeria Peoples Party), Kashim Shettima (All Progressive Congress), Christopher Irene Imumolen (Accord Party), and Hamza Al-Mustapha (Accord Party) (Action Alliance).

The first accord signing aims to commit political parties, candidates, and their spokespersons to conducting peaceful campaigns free of ethnic, religious, and hateful rhetoric that could incite violence and exacerbate the country's growing security tensions. It is also intended to encourage a focus on issue-based campaigns ahead of the 2023 elections.
