Ramadan: "Pray for Nigeria" -SDP Presidential aspirant, Prince Adewole Adebayo Tell Nigerian Muslims

Speaking in a tweet on his Twitter handle, Prince Adewole Adebayo advised Muslims that self denial by way of fasting is a metaphor of spiritual sacrifice which is what we give in expectations of divine mercy and blessings of Allah.

"In this holy month of Ramadan, let us note that self denial by way of fasting is a metaphor of spiritual sacrifice, a down payment on our faith in expectations of divine mercy and blessings of Allah SWT. May we be so committed to building a just, fair society. Pray for Nigeria"...he tweeted.

This came after the President-General of Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, had on Friday announced in a broadcast that 1443AH Ramadan will start in the country on Saturday, April 2, 2022.

Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, observed by Muslims worldwide as a month of fasting, prayer, reflection and community.

During Ramadan, adult Muslims, who are not acutely or chronically ill, elderly, breastfeeding, diabetic, or menstruating, are to abstain from eating, drinking, and smoking from dawn to sunset.

To them, it's believed that God forgives the past sins of those who observe the holy month with fasting, prayer, and faithful intention.

However, this year's Ramadan is expected to start from saturday, April 1 to May 1st, 2022.
